Okay all you anti oil nuts. How many have been to the hospital this year?

If we don't use oil just what do you think the doctor is going to use to give you a shot before your surgery? What about I.V.'s Just how are you going to get your blood when your life is on the line?

What about electronics? Just what do you propose to insulate electrical cords with? What about tooth brushes? What will you use to brush your teeth? What about wheelchairs for the disabled? What material will you make the wheels out of if you can not use oil?

Oh that's right the Oil industry is the Big Evil Overlord. They just want to destroy the earth.

Go back to your caves.

  1. Hmmm, your question seems to be what to make those various objects from instead of petroleum. The answer is not rocks, but soy, hemp, corn starch. etc... there is lots of renewable technology that can fulfill these needs. I am not against oil, I am against the waste of diminishing resources, as are most ecologicaly conscious people. I'd like you to point me to anyone what has suggested we stop using all oil products. We can conserve, but its not possible to stop now or even in my lifetime

(you forgot to ask about the tires on our electric cars....)

  2. Well let's see:

Before syringes were disposable and made of plastic they were glass and reused after being cleaned in an autoclave.

Rubber was used before plastic both for electric cords and tires, and still used for heavy machinery and airplane tires  because it has better properties than plastic.  Rubber comes from rubber trees.

Andrew C listed a lot of other alternative materials.

So where have you been living in that you didn't know any of this already, Mr. Flintstone?

  3. rock huh? Kinda cool. But rock is a finite resource. Maybe some type plastic. You could probaly make plastic on renewable fuels.
