Free/cheap prep material for MCTS and MCPD?

i am pursuing MCTS and MCPD credentials. microsoft wants to charge up to $300 for their e-learning courses. i am not completely opposed to paying that, but i am wondering if there are other resources that are free or that do not cost nearly as much.
