Free homeschooling?

In Florida also try FLVS.net.  Its run through the state and is free.  You won't get a diploma though.

Maybe it is different in other states, but you don't need a high school diploma to go to college. My own son is in college and we know lots of homeschool kids that are in colleges right now in our own state and in others. Colleges understand that homeschoolers will not have the traditional paperwork. I merely graduated him when he completed his homeschool courses - no GED, no diploma. He had his ACT test scores and his transcript of high school courses he took and that was all we needed.

Colleges want the homeschoolers - trust me, my son is a sohomore and we are still getting tons of offers from colleges wanting him to transfer there. He and several of the homeschoolers also won full tuition scholarships as well.

When you graduate from a homeschool, it is just as official as when you graduate from a public or private school. In many states a homeschool is legally classified as a private school.

I am in my 40s and have never had to present my public high school diploma once. My husband hasn't either. Don't get caught up on a piece of paper that most people store in a dusty file cabinent for the rest of their lives. I am not sure I can even remember where mine is. LOL

If you feel you must have a piece of paper, check to see if your state has a homeschool graduation event. Ours does. For those students that want the pomp and circumstance of a ceremony they have a full cap and gown event with a meal and a 'paper diploma' signed by the governor. You don't have to have it when you homeschool, but you can participate and get it. To participate all you need to have done is complete the courses equivalent to what the public schools require for a diploma.

in home schooling you dont get a diploma you take a test and get a ged and free www.k12.com
