Question:

Free jetBlue airways tickets?

I just received a mail that said that their accounting department showed that I have been awarded 2 round trip airfares to anywhere within the continental US. Also, they say that I can also get a 4 piece luggage set if I respond within the next 72 hours. Is this a scam? It was mailed not in an envelope, but like those letters that you have to tear the stubs at the end to get into it.

Also it says that it was labled as "Business mail- penalty for tampering" and "warning- the penalty for obstructing or interfering with the delivery of this letter is a fine of $2,000 and up to 5 years imprisonment" and it was mailed from zipcode 32114.

So what I am asking is this: Are these for real? I don't want to be scammed.

  1. I'm trying to figure out who to report this scam to.  I got emails from
VacationandTravelNews@abcnewsupdate.com with this offer of 2 free jetblue tickets.

I carefully read terms and conditions and privacy statement, and took their little marketing survey thinking this was worth being pestered.  Last page:  the submit page comes up with "terms and conditions" darkened to unreadable.  I wonder if many others have just clicked "submit" there, assuming they've just read the terms and conditions (previous page).  But I highlighted and read these before submitting.  NEW terms and conditions include that by clicking submit you agree to have $500-some charged to the phone number you've given them.  Looks like a scam to me!
