Hi,

Does anyone know any good websites with free knitting patterns for children's clothes? Beanies, gloves, scarves, etc.

Preferably sites that people have used before and can recommend from experience.

Thanks :-)

  1. Have you looked at http://lionbrand.com/  The membership is free to access the free patterns.  I check out their patterns all the time to get ideas and have completed many items using their patterns.  Plus if you have trouble you can contact them and they will help you out.:)

  2. I go to knittingpatterncentral.com a lot, it's a directory of other patterns spread out on the web.

    http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/patter... is also a place I really like to use, it's actually my favorite.  She has a directory and writes her own patterns.  Bev's THE Mitts are The BEST mitts I've found on the web (look under winter patterns, under mitts, the first one on the list is her kids size, the 4th is for adults).  I've made hundreds of pairs, literally.  Someone sees mine and wants me to make them for everyone in their family!  lol  I got so good at making them (my son would always lose/forget his mitts at school, that's why I started, buying them was too expensive), I can make a pair in one day.  VERY easy pattern and are comfortable on your hand.

  3. Knitting Pattern Central has a lot of free knitting pattrerns;

    There are categories for babies, boys and girls there, as well as lots of free knitting patterns for other things.  And, a seperate category for "Mittens and Gloves" and one for "Scarves" where there are patterns for kids as well as adults.

  4. I would recommend www.lionbrand.com. I teach a knitting class and we have been getting tons of FREE patterns off of there since we started in June.  You just need to scroll down to find the type of items you are seeking. (They also have great instructions for knitting, crochet, etc. with very large graphics for beginners.)

    In the past, Michael's has had those tear off patterns for all kinds of stuff in whatever area you are in whether you need knitting help, crochet, decoupage, beading, etc.  They are hanging on little racks next to those project areas.

    I purchase a lot of items on www.joanns.com and www.hancockfabrics.com, and I think they even have free patterns on them.

    Hope that helps.

    ENJOY!

    Blessings,

    P.S. If you have any more knitting questions, let me know, I'd be glad to help or find the answer out from one of my "KnitKnacks" (Yahoo Group) ladies.
