I taught myself piano and have been playing for 4 years. I found that I'm very good at just making up music on the spot. I record what I play and post it to youtube. Anyways, I am planning on listening to a song I made up and I'm going to try and write it down and have it available for other people. The problem I have with my music program (Finale Notepad) is that I cannot have parts of the song change time signature. There are a few parts where it is in 7/4, mostly in 4/4, and there is also 3/4 and 5/4. Does anyone know of a free music program (preferably with playback) that can allow me to insert time signature changes? Or is there a way with Finale Notepad? The help section doesn't work for it so I can't even see if there is anyways.

Please don't just say "google it." You think I haven't already tried that?

Also if you are interested in hearing my music, my youtube page is www.youtube.com/omfg

  1. anvil studio. if you search for it. with that name. you will find it. its really good. i just cant figure it all out so im stuck on finale notepad writing music for a marching band im in.

  2. Capella would be better I think. It's much more practical than Anvil.

    http://www.capella.de/

  3. If Noteworthy composer is still around with a free version, it'll do want you want. You'll have to put up with having "created with unregistered version of noteworthy composer" all over your printed scores, though.
