  1. why not attend real school? you know... normal... real... good education.. social skills,,, make more friends... SCHOOL

  2. Don't listen to the first poster.

She probably has absolutely NO idea what shes talking about.

You will STILL have friends, make friends, and be social if you are home educated. Seriously, most people think home schooled kids are hermit crabs and don't get out.

They do, most of them anyways.

If you home school, make sure to get involved in church activities, sports activities, girl/boy scouts,...etc.

You won't be missing out on ANY education. Homeschooling are lucky! - They get to learn more than what is just taught in a  public school.

Have you checked out k12? They might be free in your state- no idea.

Use google for what you need. Maybe type in "free science or history home school materials" type of thing.

    You'll get bunch of feedback.

Meanwhile... I just checked out two sites that did have free science and history stuff... so I'll search for them again and edit and give you the link.

    ETA:

    Here is a science link

    http://www.sciencenetlinks.com/matrix.cf...

    and for History

    http://www.nationalgeographic.com/xpedit...

If you need any other help feel free to email me! :]

I've looked at tons of websites for free  homeschooling stuff.

  3. I don't know of any links for free materials, but maybe if you sign up with one of the home schooling yahoo groups in your area you will get L/O materials for free, or at a very good price.

Go to www.groups.yahoo.com and search for any home school groups.

As for what the first responder wrote... bah!!! Don't bother to think of it, she obviously has no idea. People have a misconception about homeschooling because they're too lazy to research it. Home schooled kids are the best integrated kids I think, because they get to interact on a higher level with the adults, where as the rest, are subjected to peer pressure...etc, etc. Home schooled kids actually are getting ready to become adults, and you do want to become responsible adults, as an ultimate goal.. That's why we have so many whiners out there. Besides, you don't have to worry about being hated for being a geek. You can be all that and be loved, not come with your nose bleeding from school every day or with your lunch money stolen by the class bully.

Seems like the public schools are breeding more and more bullies. They get bored and start a shooting rampage.

My best friend was home schooled, and now she's a optimologist and has her own practice, a very successful lady!
