Free phone numbers online? Ever heard that? (btw, this is not spam. it's a legitimate question. promise.)

Okay, I have lost my cell phone, I'm at home, and I don't have a LAN line. I need to call my cell phone to see if I can find it. Calling is harder than it seems, because of the whole lack of a phone thing...

Any suggestions?

It seems like I remember hearing about a website where you can register for a phone number and can access it online. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is it free? Will it allow me to make calls from it, receive calls, or is it more a courtesy, since a lot of websites require you to put in a phone number, so that you only get the number but not the service?

You don't need to have a telephone number to make calls over the Internet.

Try downloading and installing Skype on your PC.
