So this is free, no monthly no yearly, totally free, is it like putting up your antenia in your roof and getting free local channels like GMA7 or ABS-CBN, but instead of a antenia it's a satellite dish, and you can get channels international channels like Animax and such?

  1. Greg , it be nice if someone in the Phillipines who has a FTA receiver answered .

Here's what you need to do in order to find out how many channels you can get.

    Go to Lyngsat.

    http://www.lyngsat.com/index.html

Then look at what can be received in Asia .

    http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Asia.html

Now look at the satellites that cover Filipinas and surrounding countries like Taiwan , etc .

As long as you are in the reception area then you will receive many free channels , I don't know about Animax or other International TV.

Basically you'll be doing homework by studying the satellite charts and if you click on the region you can see a map detailing what area can receive channels.

C-band requires a very large dish and Ku requires a 3-4 ft dish.

If you find a channel with a 5 digit frequency , it's Ku

    4 Digit frequency is C-band.
