Free school lunch program?

Im going to a new school and u can buy like ice cream and beef jerky and stuff but im on the free lunch program I know I can get it for free but my mom told that they only put so much money a month, so how much money do they put on a month?

In Fairborn city schools, they have lunches and alacarte.  The free lunch program was for the lunches.  My kids often got their free lunch and traded other students for the alacarte they wanted.

I thought the free lunch program only included what was in the free lunch for the day which is required to meet certain, nutrition guidelines. I'm not sure about ice cream but I don't think beef jerky has any nutrition in it, just fat and salt, so I don't know why they would have it in a free lunch program.
