Freecycle, new need some help?

Question

I don't get what all these words mean to freecycle and how do i do a post, I am part of a group in my town but i don't really get how it all works.

What does it mean:

OFFER (What i want to give away?)

TAKEN (I can no longer get it?)

Heello fellow freecycler, Offer means what the person is offering to give,and Taken means what the person was offering is already been taken.It's a great service for our communities,Good Luck .

Only the OFFER and TAKEN messages are posted directly on the group site.  Any replies are via private emails and do not appear on group site.

Example: If you have a coffee pot you no longer need, post on the group site or send an email to the group and in the subject line, write OFFER:  Coffee Pot (and your zip code); in the text area, a written description of your coffee pot.

When your post is approved by group moderator, posted to the group and sent out to all members, the ones who want it will email you personally for it.  You will then choose who you want to give it to and reply to their personal email to make arrangements for them to pick it up. After item is picked up, you post a message to the group and in the subject line, write "TAKEN:  Coffee Pot (and your zip code).  This will be posted on the group site and go out to all members letting everybody know it's no longer available.

If you want to receive something that is being offered on the group, REPLY to the post and tell the person you would like to have it and why. The message will go directly to the person who offered the item.  That person will decide who gets it and if you are chosen, the person will send you an email to make pick up arrangements. That person will then post a TAKEN message on the group.
