Freedom Cause to stamp the Sporting Press A3 Dual Distance Final at Shelbourne Park
Shelbourne Park will become home for the Grade A3 Sporting Press A3 Dual Distance Final over 550 yards on Wednesday, 6th June. Taking up the challenge tonight are Michaels Gift, Monleek Spark, Freedom Cause, Tadhgs Fantasy, Sparta Bama and Black
Stanley. The prize money set for the winner is €800.
One of the most promising entries for the race is Freedom Cause, College Causeway’s two-year-old white and black son out of b***h, Serrano. He is very lightly raced and shot into the racing career by getting drilled over 525 yards on 29th March
and racing over them in 29.45 seconds.
He finished third in his career debut on 4th May over 525 yards. The race was won by Starlight Kevin who won the race in 29.67 seconds and led the track by three lengths.
His second career try had him parking at the same ranking on 11th May in a 525 yards race which Castlelyons Zack won in 29.09 seconds with a 4 ¼ lengths’ lead.
The first seasonal success of the two-year-old surfaced on 18th May in a 525 yards race which Freedom Cause won by reaching the other end of the wire in 29.36 seconds. Finishing the closest to the winner was Castlelyons Zack.
Freedom Cause’s last attempt at racing till yet was in the Grade A3 the Sporting Press A3 Dual Distance Semi-Final on 31st May at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards.
The race was won by the 6/4 joint favourite, Black Stanley, who won the race in 28.81 seconds. The winner led the runner up of the race, Freedom Cause, by two and a half lengths. He concluded the race in 29.01 seconds.
Settling third was Tadhgs Fantasy while the other joint favourite, Glanmire Jet, ended fourth after racing for 29.45 seconds.
Through the four outings of the career, Freedom Cause has not driven down the third ranking and has also claimed a race. He will have to counter competition today as two of the candidates racing have held on to their most recent races and can strike harder
again today.
