Freedom Chief, hard to contain in John Smiths Kent Derby - Heat 5 at Sittingbourne
Freedom Chief will be very tough to contain if holding his own in early stages of the John Smiths Kent Derby - Heat 5, to be held at Sittingbourne on Sunday, August 5th.
The black dog has been delivering good results over the last few weeks, and winning three of five races shows how consistent he is. K. O'Flaherty’s charge sealed a couple of convincing wins before losing his momentum.
In his latest trip at Henlow, he could only seize the third place behind Westmead Shaw. The son of Honcho Classic has a magnificent track record at this venue, and the sweet memories of his two consecutive triumphs are still fresh.
He is in good shape, and should not face any difficulty in replicating what he did here last month. Among his rivals are: Holdem Spy, Lenson Mac, Kiltomey Simba, Helenas Sailor and Winter Wonder. The race will be initiated at 21:03 GMT.
Kiltomey Simba will be aiming to upset the best laid plans. However, it might be very dangerous to expect a winning performance from him especially his fresh defeats.
Lenson Mac can hold his own in the opening stampede. The black and white hound raced only once last month. Producing a positive result straight after a break will be a tough task, but he has gained some attention by making a few fine solo outings.
An early pace is Winter Wonder’s forte. So, the punters will know his fate soon after the start. If he fails to establish his dominance early, there will be nothing for him. Helenas Sailor is also blessed with decent opening acceleration.
Holdem Spy cannot afford to concede valuable ground at the start. The black dog is certainly a dangerous hound, but victories are not coming to his way regularly these days. He suffered plenty of mess on his last trip and as a result, finished fifth behind
Ballymac Tobias at Hove last month.
Everything looks in favour of Freedom Chief, who is not going to allow anyone to spoil his party. Helenas Sailor will be a huge threat though. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
