  1. It has to be good...but why as one answer here states -does she only believe that the right wing have a say in the media.  I ask the lady - what about the BBC - Britain's Biggest Communists

  2. I believe, freedom of media, respectively freedom of speech is basically a good thing, the problem in the USA is though, that the media is controlled by big corporations, rather than by individual people. So those corporations make the news and determine what people read and watch and learn, and what not. The fact that many right wing conservatives have shares in those big companies, including the US president and his cronies, doesn't really help in creating an atmosphere of truth and reliability.

Of course the media won't dare to criticise the US government, let alone the war on Iraq or the US military and their crimes, and those journalists who do, will get fired more quickly than they can say "freedom of speech".

Uncensored, really "free" media would be a good thing, but in the US, it's not really existing. No wonder so many Americans support Bush. They don't know any better. It's like Chinese supporting the occupation of Tibet. Their government won't allow them to get the proper information.

I hope that one day, both China and the USA will have a free press and real freedom of speech.

to Paul: I agree... I think in Britain it's different, but I believed that the question referred to the USA. - lol but isn't communist a bit too much? Haven't you seen their documentary on Hugo Chavez some months ago? That was not nice and a very biased moderator. ;-)

  3. Media can't be free with capital. Then how can say it is better for us?
