Freelance? ...really a good idea?

Question

I'm a graphic designer with near to 2 years experience (not including college education)...I'm thinking about just doing freelance as a full time job...sounds easier than it is. Anyone have experience with this? Where would I get started?...I don't even have a mac right now so I know I would have to get that with all new programs but that's not a problem. I'm in the South FLA area btw...

It might be better to get a career working for someone first. Build up a name in the business and then go freelance in a few years time.
