Hi, how much would it cost (circa) to hire a freelancer to build a website like GameSpot, GiantBomb. etc.

Considering the complexity of GameSpot, which includes a database, and a little Flash, I'm going to say that you may have to shell out about $1500+. At least.

You would need to find a supplier fr the content (videos, games, ads, banners)

Costs posted are way too low for all the work involved to do everything.  BUT, you can find these cost-sucking freelancers at places like getafreelancer.com that work for practically nothing. Just remember, you get what you pay for.
