  1. If the telly you have in your living room runs top-up tv anytime, i.e. it's got a cam and a card in the back and you pay a monthly subscription then the channels on it run for their full broadcasting hours. If the box hasn't got top up tv anytime then the channels broadcast on a limited hours basis. This particular nasty little rip-off of top up tv and top up anytime sitting on top of Freeview is something that regulators should be looking at. Sky's different since it runs its own channels and some of them are without advertisements, but to pay to watch TV that uses lots of programmes from the BBC  and then have to watch adverts in a country where we pay a very high licence fee is extracting the urine somewhat. Either pay for it and no adverts, or adverts and it's free, I say!

  2. Are they both using the same aerial.?

You may be picking BID up on different stations / transmitters.

Do you get your TV signal ONLY from freeview or from SKY/Cable too?

  3. I beleive that you probably have Sky on the living room set, but the other set runs off it's own aerial and is collecting a signal from a transmitter in range of you. Sky transmits this program 24/7. Terestrial is on 12 hours. Look in your TV mag. it explains everything clearly.

  4. Bid TV on the Freeview programme guide isn't too clever and gives the "no programme information" message even when it is transmitting. It should be on until 19:00.

  5. Different reception on aerials..
