  1. If he has a suitable aerial pointing to a transmitter emitting Freeview he can. If you live in North East Wales it's possible in some parts to pick up transmissions from Winter Hill.

Some parts of West Wales have gone all digital, no analogue, and some residents there were given freeview boxes. Some remote parts had no signal before this. I think the relevant transmitter was either Carmel, Presely or Blaenplwyf.

  2. It normally means your antenna is not set-up properly or is not the correct type - you need a high gain aerial. However, it could also mean that the signal if not yet reachable from your location. Check with your neighbours and see if they have the same trouble.

  3. As soon as you replace the old and outdated aerial coaxle cable with the required aerial digital cable you'll receive trouble free freeview .

  4. Depends on where ur local signal is broadcast from and weather the sender actually is capable of the digital signal, so dont worry eventually the transmitter will be updated and you will get freeview

  5. Where in south wales do you live? I live in bridgend.

Some areas have a very weak signal. However once the analog signals are turned off, the digital ones will be boosted (at the moment they still interfere with each other)

You will be able to recieve freeview on your existing arial when the signals are turned off, if not, before then.

Also if you havent done so already, make sure the 'update' feature is turned on. This updates the firmware automatically when they become available. Also you will need to scan for channels from time to time.

  6. 2009- 10 is the switch over date - when analogue will be switched off ... not the start date ( at switch over the power will be increase on the digitial channel so coverage will be better )

hint: look at freesat - cheaper than sky more channels than freeview

  7. Check with a Comet or Currys Store. If you give them your postal code they will be able to tell you if you can receive the freeview. You do need a free view box!

  8. Its the way the cookie crumbles I too live in an area they say will never get freeview..
