I have just bought a new hd freeview television but the past couple of days it has been freezing and blocking on occasions, does anyone know why this is?

  1. Your aerial or the cable connecting it to the TV is probably inadequate for good reception. You should get an aerial installer in to check aerial alignment, aerial condition and cable condition. This should not cost more than £100, including the cost of a new aerial and cable unless you require a really high gain aerial. That might take the total nearer £200.

    The alternative, that the installer should tell you for free is that the signal in your area is currently too weak to for reliable reception. Your Freeview TV should have an analogue tuner in it, so you can still receive the five analogue channels.


  2. Do you mean the picture breaks up into pixels i wonder if you had tried a seperate D/B before you had the tele. are you in agood signal area. codger

  3. Poor signal quality. You may have to adjust your Ariel. Or if the cable & ariel are quite old you may want to invest in a new one. When I had this problem I adjusted the ariel while watching the analog channels. Once I had got the best pictures I could I then switched to the freeview channels & used the seach facility to re-program my channels. I got virtually all the channels. But I still ha minor problems so invested in a new arial.
