Freezer freezing up

Question

I have this problem, can fix it, but does my freezer keep freezing up, I have too manually unfreeze it then afterwards it works good for about 2 to 3 weeks then I have to do it again. The heater cord looks okay, but still how can I check it to find out if it's bad, my freezer is just about 6 years old.
