Freezer icing and causing water at the same time

Question

The freezer gets a lot of ice on the inside that looks like snow. It happens within a few hours, more than 1/2 inch thick. I also noticed water in the upper shelf in the door.

]Is there some automatic defroster?
What causes the water in the door?
How do I check the door seal?
