Question:

Freezer is not cold enough?

The freezer in my refrigerator is not cold enough even though it is on the coldest setting. There is not any frost buildup in the freezer. The refrigerator is on the medium setting and it's working completely fine.

The fridge is used - it came with my house and unfortunately I don't have any of the original papers for it. I don't know a lot about appliance repair. What can I do to fix or diagnose the problem?

  1. a few years ago the head maintenace guy for braums ice cream told me the first sign of a fridge in decline is the freezer not chilling propperly. i'm not saying, i'm just saying be prepared for a failure pretty soon. (he called it the soft ice cream rule. well, he didnt say that. i just made that part up)

  2. could need a Freon recharge. could be just getting old.

    contact appliance repair company.

  3. suggest to make sure you are not blocking off the fan in the back of the freezer department. This will restrict the freezing capability of the freezer
