Can someone show me the steps in solving this equation? Thanks!

Antifreeze is ethylene glycol. C2H2(OH)2.

How many g of ethylene glycol should be added to 1.00 kg of water to produce a solution that freezes at -15.0 degrees C.

  1. Delta T = kf x m

    15.0 = 1.86 x m

    m = 8.06

    8.06 = moles solute / 1.00 Kg

    moles solute = 8.06

    mass solute = 8.06 mol x 62.068 g/mol = 500.5 g
