Freiburg midfielder Johannes Flum urges his side to step up- Bundesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johannes-Flum-c18823 has urged his side to step up on their performances after a series of poor results this season. He has warned his side that they will be playing in the second division next year if they keep
on playing the way they have been and wants consistency.
Marcus Sorg’s side is currently sitting at the bottom of the Bundesliga standings table with only seven points from the ten games played and have already suffered seven defeats thus far. They have been unable to capitalize on last
year’s impressive run and have looked the weakest side in the league in this campaign.
Flum claimed that his side has not been up to the mark this season and the displays have been rather dismal throughout. He admitted that the team now has to work hard if there are any chances of survival in the Bundesliga otherwise
they will be playing in the second division next year.
“We're all too harmless from back to front. We've simply got to do a lot of things a lot better to make sure we improve. Ultimately we need to do a lot of work on ourselves because we can't go on like this,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview to Bundesliga.de.
The midfielder insisted that the team has the quality required to perform at the highest level with some world-class players such as Papiss Cisse and the players need that little bit of confidence to get their campaign going. He
admitted that a win would surely bring back the confidence within the squad and hopefully they will be out of the relegation zone after the next few games.
“We have quality within our ranks and have proven that enough times already. Despite all the disappointment surrounding the club right now, I'm convinced that we will be able to drag ourselves out of the bottom three,” he concluded.
The club will host Bayer Leverkusen in their next Bundesliga match at the badenova Stadium in search of a third win in the current season. They have won only once in their last five league games.
