Freiburg striker Demba Cisse linked to English Premier League switch – Bundesliga transfer news
According to reports in Bundesliga, Freiburg striker, Papiss Demba Cisse is being linked to a possible move away from the club in the upcoming summer transfer window. It has been further reported that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 may be a possible destination for the free-scoring
striker.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 International has been in sublime form for Freiburg this season and has scored 20 goals in just 27 league games for the Bundesliga side. Owing to the 25-year-old’s excellent form, Freiburg now stand eighth in in the Bundesliga standings. There
have not been any reports of concrete offers for the player, but it is believed that a few English sides are interested in the striker’s services. Furthermore, it has been reported in German newspaper, Bild, that Freiburg have already started preparing for
the striker’s departure. Reports indicate that a fee in the region of 15 million Euros might be enough for Freiburg to let go of their prized asset.
Freiburg General Manager, Dirk Dufner, admits that he is tempted to give Cisse a pay-raise but has made it clear that the final decision on the player’s future is in the hands of the club. While talking to the media, Dufner said, "You could not blame Cisse
for leaving if there is a club that would hand him a much better salary. The final decision [on a transfer] will definitely be our decision, though."
The Senegalese striker joined Freiburg from Metz in 2009 on a contract that binds him to the club until 2014. Cisse has scored 26 goals for Freiburg in 43 games and the African has become an integral part of the Freiburg side that finished last season in
the 14th place.
The Freiburg hitman made his debut for the Senegalese national team on August 12, 2009, in a friendly match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Congo-c2875. Papiss Cisse scored a brace on his debut and since then, he has scored six goals in nine games for Senegal.
