SC Freiburg Sporting Director Dirk Dufner confirmed the news and claimed that the Moroccan international is shown the door because of disciplinary reasons.
Dufner insisted that the club will not compromise on any disciplinary issues and added that this decision will be a lesson for all other players. He added that the club will not tolerate indiscipline and that there will be no hesitation
in taking decisions like this if needed.
Abdessadki was involved in an incident in a Cologne hotel when the side were there to play FC Koln in a Bundesliga fixture. The club ordered investigation into the incident immediately and the decision was reached as the player’s
contract was terminated.
Dufner admitted that it is a huge disappointment for the club as he was a very important part of the squad. But he admitted that the decision was justified as the club’s pride was at stake. He further revealed that five other players
have also been released from their respective contracts at the club and they are allowed to talk to other sides for a possible move in January.
“Things happened which we can't let go with a professional player, who is supposed to function as a role-model. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 will not tolerate such behaviour. The players have been informed that they're available
for other interested clubs, as long as the terms are acceptable,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Marcus Sorg, the team’s manager, justified the decision by claiming that he wanted to give the players a chance to search for their new clubs as soon as possible as it could have been late if the decision was reached in January.
“We didn't want to wait until the start of training on January 2nd. We thought it better to let the players know straight away that we would accommodate any move on their part,” the manager added.
SC Freiburg have been struggling for results this season and are placed at the bottom of the table with 13 points from the 17 games played. Their performances are in complete contrast to those from last season and they are in danger
of being relegated at the end of the season.
