EWS ones used to knock off the edge of the platforms on the Wensleydale Railway. I suppose that's what happens when you use Canadian bogies on an English branch line.

class 66,well wot can i say about this yank c**p

only one good thing is they never fail but that all you can say about them besides you will be deaf in 2 years

heavy haul are to mean to order the quiet cab !

I believe Train Operating Companies could specify the level of comfort (1-5).  EWS ordered the cheapest spec, which explains why these locomotives are despised by drivers.

There are over 400 of these locomotives that were built for various private railway companies in this country.   They were built by General Motors/EMD in London, Ontario, Canada.
