  1. The first thing I would do would be to speak to your teacher. You need to find out how close to failing for the year you are, what steps/projects you could do to raise your grade, and if your teacher has any suggestions for studying for your final. For example, is your teaching giving a final that covers from the beginning of the year to the end, or is the major part of the test going to be on the last quarter topics. Feeling guilty isn't going to help. You have a lot of work to do, mon petit.

I'm assuming you are in your first year of French. This would mean knowing your basic conversational terms (health, dates, numbers, etc.), verb forms, how to make a negative, question words and how to respond to them, adjectives and adjective agreement, etc. You need to go over the required topics in your textbook and make a list of what you remember and what you don't. You might want to review even the ones you remember, but don't spend much time with them.

Whatever you do, don't whine or beg for a grade. Nothing turns a teacher off more quickly than that. Just be honest and be prepared to work yourself silly to pass the course.

    Bonne chance.
