I have a 1year french mastiff, he weighs 10 1/2 stone, just wondered if he would be able to run next to me on a bike? Would he be able to keep up? would it be bad for his legs? I aint training for the marathon or nothing, just think this would be a good form of exercise?

I would like to know if my 2year pitbull ***** would be able to aswell because she loves running???

  1. I have to say i would love to see that! I think that your mastiff would probably knock you off your bike as they are so big n clumsy when they run they wobble. So she will probably knock you  over. The pitbull would be fine, probably take you for a ride!

  2. bit of advise...dont try to run them together lol...i really dont think that heavy running like that,  at your control, being the biker, would be good for a mastiffs hips...i would call a vet first...the pit bull should be fine as long as you bring a small amt of water with you...they do have short legs..and you cant go to fast, but it would be a wonderful form of exercise i agree

  3. I bike with my pit bull. I love it, so does she.

You just should practice in an empty parking lot to get the dog used to staying by your side....NOT running in front of you. Im not sure about the Mastiff but im assuming if you kept a steady, not too fast pace, he would be fine.

    ADD-

Your dog is gorgeous! She kinda looks like she has some American Bulldog in her, off topic sorry.

She has a great build! You should really bike with her and get her in shape, you can see some muscle definition in her and if she was a bit leaner she would be a d**n good looking dog.

I also 2nd the one at a time thing lol...I wont even take my 2 together. I do one at a time.

  4. Hey your pitty would love it. I would just be a bit careful bout ur frnchy because they have such large growth plates and hes only a year old. If you do decide to take him just take it easy and go at a steady pace. I wouldnt go for too long either because i dont think their stamina would be as good as yours on a bike. May aswell give it a go. good luck!!

btw im so jelous....you have my 2 fav breeds of dogs :)

Awwww your pit bull is georgeous. I recon it looks in great shape to have a run alongside you. I would love to do it with my eng staffy but i think she would lead the way and it would end up in pain...haha
