French Open: Anders Hansen back in the race
The 2nd day of the Alstom Open de France starts. The French Open is in full swing at the Le Golf National. The best in the sport are battling it out for the trophy.
One of the players having a great 2nd day is Denmark’s Anders Hansen. Hansen had an amazing start to his first round. He scored two birdies on the first two holes. There was nothing special on the front nine and his score after that was two-under
par.
On the back nine of the 1st day, Hansen did not do much good. He scored two birdies. Unfortunately for him he scored a double bogey on the fifteenth and a bogey on the seventeenth.
Even after such a great start his total score for the day was one-under par.
The second day for the Dane professional golfer was better than the first one. Hansen scored two birdies on the front nine, on the fourth and sixth hole. The two birdies were followed by a bogey. His score after the first nine holes was two-under par.
Hansen had a great end to the day, as he was able to bag three birdies on the fifteenth, sixteenth and eighteenth hole. There was also a bogey on the seventeenth that made his score on the back nine two-under par.
There were no eagles or double bogeys for the 41-year-old during the whole day. His total score for the day became four-under par. On the second day, he was able to finish the 7347 yards course in 68 shots.
When the Dane ended his game, he was tied at the fifth position. He was 2 strokes behind the leader Christian Nilsson, who had not started his second day.
Above Hansen were Italy’s Matteo Manassero, Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee and England’s Gary Boyd. All these players had a five-under par on their first day and were tied at the second position. All of them still have to start their second day.
Hansen can still minimize the lead by playing good consistent golf. There are two days for him in the Open. Even now, it could be anybody’s game.
