French Open Super Series 2012: Wang Zhengming sends Marc Zwiebler packing in first round encounter
China’s young player Wang Zhengming found a good start in the Men’s Singles first round when he stamped his mark over Germany’s Marc Zwiebler at the Yonex French Open Super Series 2012 at Paris, France, on Wednesday, October 24.
The World Number 16 Zhengming, who has been positioned at number eight in Men’s Singles seeding of the tournament, played with fantastic precision and consumed just 36 minutes to taste a comprehensive victory.
Zhengming did not show any confusion at any stage in the match as he played dominating game by keeping his speed at the maximum level and eventually ended up the contest in straight sets with an inspiring total on the board.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Zwiebler tried to play attacking badminton but he failed to destroy the defence of his Chinese rival and eventually lost the battle without bagging any set.
In the first game, eighth seeded Zhengming displayed his lofty skills in the arena and stayed in complete control from initial rallies.
Chinese player was everywhere on court as he took the bird early and did not spare any gap for his opponent throughout the opening stage.
Zhengming created trouble for his German rival by playing impressive badminton at net and managed a reasonable lead of 11-9 until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the underdog Zwiebler tried to bridge the gap but he failed to play positive badminton and remained struggling.
In the meanwhile, Zhengming stretched his lead by playing attacking badminton and managed to end up the opening set with a stunning 21-13 score on the board.
In the following set, Zhengming again was the one who created a reasonable gap in starting rallies without facing any trouble.
Until the end of opening half, the lofty Zhengming remained in command as he dictated his challenger in all areas of the court and set up an 11-7 lead until the break.
In the concluding part of second game, Zhengming remained consistent in his smooth sailing and ultimately finished off the set with a decent 21-17 score on the board.
Zhengming easily registered victory over Zwiebler in straight games in 36 minutes with a dominating margin of 21-13 and 21-17.
