French Rev?

I have to write an essay on the French Revolution, and need a very good, well written, and detailed first sentence. PLEASE HELP, it should be something like, "The French Revolution, the period between 1789–1799, saw the end of the monarchy in France, and began as an attempt to create a constitutional monarchy, where the powers of the king would be limited by a parliament...." but not TOO long.

I will giv ebest answer pelase help!

  1. The Revolution did not end the Monarchy, only the Absolute power of the King.  The Bourbon Kings would later be restored for short periods, by the were controled by the General Assembly.  It did not bring Democracy to the people.

    "The French Revolution, brought on by famine, extreme poverty and endless monarchical wars, succeeded in ending the 'Absolute Powers' held by the Kings of France and set up the General Assembly to rule in it's stead."


  2. As a professor, my suggestion is this, "The 10-year French Revolution in the 18th century ended the monarchial rule and began the turning point to embrace a democratic rule of the people in France under a system of government called Parliament."
