  1. Marie is discouraged.

  2. Marie is discouraged.

  3. discouraged, not so much heartbroken.

  4. yup the first guy has it right Marie is discouraged!

HEARTBROKEN: no heartbroken is  coeur brisé

  5. "Marie is disheartened" (not just "discouraged").

It means that she has lost heart in what she was doing or she is demoralised.

It can also mean that she has been "put off" by something or somebody, or from doing something.

"Marie est découragée par ses professeurs": She is put off / demoralised by her teachers.

It could mean that she has "lost heart" in a relationship and believes it will not lead anywhere.

"Marie est découragée par la froideur de son petit ami": She is disheartened by the cold attitude of her boyfriend.

"Heartbroken" is too strong for "découragée".

"She is heartbroken" would be "Elle a le coeur brisé" or "Elle a un immense chagrin."
