French Ties aiming for a hat trick in the Read Nicholls And McCain On Betfair Handicap Chase (Betfair Chase Series Final) at Haydock
Haydock is to become home for the Class 2 Read Nicholls And McCain On Betfair Handicap Chase (Betfair Chase Series Final) over two miles and six furlongs on Saturday, 7th April. The race has attracted a highly versatile lineup of twenty-four runners.
Each entry is different from another with regard to victories, race courses, distances and races at Haydock. The one who has not only raced but won at Haydock too, is Emperor Concerto, Emperor Fountain’s nine-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Busy Mittens.
He won the Haydock Park Annual Badgeholders Club Handicap Chase on 21st March at Haydock over three miles. It was not an effortless win for Emperor Concerto who had to hold back the reeling in pursuer by a mere head’s margin. Dancing Art finished
right behind the winner who was riding with Dougie Costello.
Concluding the race third was Kilcommon Pride on the lineup of seven.
With two races on his record during the new season, his seasonal debut was in the Part Exchange With Barratt Homes Handicap Chase (Betfair Chase Series Qualifier) on 4th March at Huntingdon over three miles.
The race was won by the 5/2 favourite Sound Accord while qualifying as the runner up was Dot Or Feather. Emperor Concerto himself was positioned fourth behind the winner.
The nine-year-old is in for the third start of the season and will strive for attaching further victories to what he has bagged already.
Another interesting entry on the lineup is French Ties, John French’s ten-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare No Ties. Out of the three starts that he ventured into during the new season, he has won twice and scored second in the one that remained.
The last two tries resulted in paired up victories which will turn into a hat trick if he wins this race.
On 2nd March, French Ties won the Rickety Bridge Handicap Chase (In Aid Of West Berkshire Mencap) at Newbury while racing with Alan O’Keeffe.
He claimed the very next race that came his way, Tommy’s Darts Handicap Chase on 24th March at Bangor-on-dee over two miles and four and a half furlong.
He comes with very strong chances of winning the challenge ahead.
