French Websites....?

Question

I asked this before but the question never showed up :[ but anyway

Does anyone know a really good website were i can learn french? Or i could email someone that speaks french? Because i really want to learn it like super bad i already know alot but i just want to learn more. I'm half Belgian and..it just makes me feel great knowing the language my great grandma spoke. But could you please help me :D

D'accord, these sites won't perfectly teach you French...but, they can be a good supplement or starting point. If possible, you should enroll at a course with a real teacher or get in contact with a friend/family member that you can speak with in person, yet if that's not likely to happen soon, these should be fine to start you off:

http://www.frenchassistant.com/faq.asp (a pretty good site for review and has quizzes to check your knowledge)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/french/ (this one is probably my favorite because it has audio clips of argot - or slang)

http://french.speak7.com/ (i haven't tried this one yet...but it looks promising!)

Also, a useful tip that I find helps me focus is to play some French music on youtube while using these sites (like Kyo or Superbus). it might give you a better way of recognizing words and improve your accent. Bonne chance et j'espère que ça va bien!

Hi! I think it's great you want to learn French! If you want to learn more about French grammar, the about.com French language site is really actually pretty good. Also, I found this site for German called "ielanguages.com" and it includes a great French grammar and vocabulary and even slang sections. If you want to build your vocabulary and pronunciation further I suggest listening to some podcasts, they are free to download on Itunes (just search French and then click on podcasts), or you could listen to some French radio.
