French and Spanish version of FIVB Beach Volleyball drill book available
The FIVB Technical and Development Department released a drill book for the national federations and players in October 2011.
The beach volleyball drill book was great work of the international sports governing body, the Federation International de Volleyball. The FIVB is always keen on such matters and especially the FIVB Technical and Development Department is focused on providing
different tools of help to the aspiring learners of the game.
The drill book proved to be a huge success but it had some limitations. Only the English version of the book was available last year and there was a dire need to render the book into other languages. Considering the very fact, the FIVB recently translated
the book into French and Spanish. The FIVB wanted to help develop the sport further around the world and French and Spanish versions of the book will definitely serve the purpose.
The latest versions of the beach volleyball drill book are targeted towards national federations and their players, which do not have English as their first language. Since the French and Spanish are spoken by masses in various parts of the world, the new
versions of the book will surely increase its effectiveness.
The beach volleyball drill book has served as teaching material for Volleyball Cooperation Programmes as well as a number of beach volleyball courses during the 2011 season. The book provided a great helping hand to the instructors in explaining different
techniques to the players, while the new athletes used as a powerful tool to get the knack of the sport.
The French and Spanish versions have been developed with the help of two experienced instructors of FIVB. New Zealand’s Hayden Jones and US-based beach volleyball player Daniel Dalanhese from Brazil worked on the project and translated the English version
of the Beach Volleyball Drill Book in French and Spanish.
Since both instructors had plenty of experience and had no difficulty to understand the terms and other jargons used in the book. They indeed did a great job and make it quite easy for French and Spanish people. The online versions of the book are available
on official website of the International Volleyball Federation.
