Here's the backdrop:

There's a French exchange student at my school. I find him to be very attractive and he has a locker near mine.

He's been making brief eye contact with me (before we both look away) & he's seems very sweet. He's been looking at me for upwards of 2 weeks now...also, when we're in the halls next to one another, he gets very close so as he brushes up against me.

Is this casual flirting for you European guys or does it mean that you might want a date?

  1. i'm french and i can tell you that he will probably kiss you on the chick to say hi to you ...so if he does don't think that means anything...soon he will learn about the hugging part....other than that i would suggest you to change your ways if you are american because he might find you boring....see we french are very physical at times, so don't take it the wrong way ...also if he wants to come over your house to spend time with you, act like your used to it because i know you americans don't really know how to socialize...he might also say hi to you everytime he sees you in the hallway so don't ignore him like you americans sometimes do....ok, so since he brushes...then you are very lucky because were we'ree from it's a way to get to know a hard to get girl....that also means that he wantd to be closer to you during the eye contact you had...i'm saying this because the girls i find it weird when i say i while putting my arm around them etc...so don't make him feel like he needs to change he's ways in order to be with you or something, because it's much more fun for him to be himself !
