Can I just use the 3 pin adaptor plug (from 3 square to 2 round pins) or do I need anything else to change the Voltage from 240 (British) to 110 (French)?

Or have I got it totally wrong.

  1. just use the adaptor plug.

  2. in UK, all equipments are ok. You just need the adaptor.

If it is a laptop or any equipment which accepts 110-240V or 220-240V, the adaptor plug is sufficient. Check on the sticker near the plug.

If your equipment does not accept 220-240V, you will need a transformer. That's the case with equipment from the US, Canada etc...

Be very careful with high consuming equipment such as hairdryers !

  3. no the voltage is in France 220 V.

    we don't use the 110 V since 1950
