Question:

French films/ music?

I'm trying to learn conversational French, and would like to do so through listening to French films and music.

I studied GCSE level French, so I know most of the basics. The thing that I really struggle with is understanding verbal French (though I can read it fairly well)

Can you recommend any good French films or music?

Thanks

  1. "Amelie from Montmartre" is an amazing film. It's very cute.

    "La Femme Nikita"

"Love me if you Dare" (Jeux d'enfants) - a film about children daring each other to do things...they continue to do it when they get older.

I would suggest watching all of your dvds in French (disney is excellent for beginners).

  2. Films:

    Amelie

    Le Pacte des Loups

You can even change the language on your dvd movies to French.

    Music:

Alizee has good songs, and those can help you with the pronunciation. The problem is that most of her songs  has no sense.

Thierry Amiel- "Je suis Malade", "Sacré Coeur", "Les- mots Bleus", "Quand on a que l'amour", "Un jour arrive".

    Jenifer Bartoli- "Je Garde"

Celine Dion- "Je suis malade", "Pour que tu m'aimes encore"

Il divo- "Pour que tu m'aimes encore", "I believe in you (Je crois en toi) [ft Celine Dion]"

    Mathieu Chedid- "Onde Sensuelle"

Christophe Mae- "Mon Paradis", "Ca fait mal".

These are just some of the songs in French I like. I personally think that music is a very effective way to learn a language.

  3. Amelie is a classic!  The narrative is very quick-paced but it is quite easy to follow, so it would be a good one to watch to develop your skills.

you can buy it with subtitles so it isn't too hard to understand

  5. Amelie

    L'auberge espagnole

    mon meilleur ami

    la vie en rose

    les choristes

    le hussard sur la toit

music would be pauline, kyo, alizee, nadiya, najoua belyzel, kenza farah, raphael
