  1. Yeah that is definatly true, i think you should choose Spanish, i used to study French and really enjoyed it until i was made to do Spanish, which then turned out to be far better. good luck! :D

  2. Spanish. A lot more people use it ... everywhere!

  3. Yes, spanish iss more widely used... but why would you want to learn a language that a whole bunch of othr people speak????? Be a bit different and go for french. In my opinion its the most beautiful language in the world.

About the difficulty thing.. it isnt really much harder.. the 2 are very very similar. And anyway, youll feel prouder of yourself if if you can master the 'harder' of the 2.

    french french french

    =]

  4. It is true that Spanish is more widely spoken in the US than French.  I don't know if it is easier to learn, I would think they are similar in difficulty because they are both romance languages.  I took French all throughout high school and really enjoyed it.

I also live close to Canada, so French is not as rare in my area as in the rest of the US.  I had some Spanish in High School and didn't liek it nearly as much (I didn't think it was as pretty as French), but you will have to make a personal choice.  You can always learn the other language later in life.

  5. yes it is true, my cousin takes french and says its quite hard and most of it is not like english while i have another cousin who takes spanish and said its much easier than french (she used to take it before) and most words resemble the same things.

  6. Even in France, I found French to be pretty useless. I never met a French person who could encourage a beginner. Even the teachers seem to be the stereotypical accent snobs that hate having their language spoken by anyone who wasn't born to it. The grammar, etc., isn't any harder for me. It was just impossible to find opportunities to practice and without practice, there is no hope of advancement.

There are allot of Spanish-speaking (and American English) language snobs, too, but... Here in the Americas, there is allot more tolerance.

  7. Spanish is easier. And there are more Spanish speakers than french speakers in the world. But it's not true that it's more widely spoken in the world. French is spoken on every continent and Spanish only on two. As you're American, and if you want to stay in the U.S, Spanish is definitely more useful than French. But if you want to travel French is more useful. Anyway, if you want to be able to speak fluently a language, you should choose the language which attracts you the most, otherwise you won't feel any motivation to learn it and will never speak it properly.

  8. French. French is more attractive and more widely used in the international conferences. Romantic and nice food, Paris and Haute coute, cuisine and arts, perfum and shoes ect.

French maybe is ur first step to experience romance and elegant style for life. Spanish, Italian and portuguese may be much easier after u've learned French
