  1. I'm also taking French in high school. So far, it does seem to be challenging, but it is rewarding. If you know French, you will succeed in the world, especially in Europe. The reason I didn't take Spanish was because I don't like Spanish culture in general.

Here are some excellent websites that will help you learn French easier, in addition to the classes you take:

    http://www.livemocha.com/

    http://www.mangolanguages.com/

  2. To be honest learning a language is all in the mind. If you are determined and committed to learn a new language then you will be able to dependant on how much effort and time you are willing to put in. I personally have found French to be easier to learn than both Spanish and German simple because listeneing to the languages i can understand French much more clearly.

So do not give up on it, unless you want to, but if you like it and want to continue then i would definately reccommed you to do so!

  3. it's not hard at all. well as long as your do your work and study you'll be fine. i have taken classes for a couple years. i love the language. hope you get a good teacher. that'll be a big part of it.

if you want to do it, do it, don't let anyone dissuade you.

  4. I've been taking French classes for a couple of years and have found them to be fairly easy. You do have to spend time studying and practicing, though.  I'd suggest starting to listen to French music, watch French films (don't expect to understand them even if you understand the language), and watching French TV programs.  You can go here to watch tv online:  http://www.livewtv.com/francophone_chann...

One thing that makes French more difficult than a language like Spanish is that it is more memorization-based because there are so many exceptions to the rules.  For example:  Did you learn yet that nouns have gender in French (and in many other languages)?  Well if you did, then you probably also learned that you can't usually tell from the word itself whether or not it is feminine or masculine. You always have to memorize the gender when you learn a new word.

  5. I was born french but have been living in the UK for a while. I think french is more difficult than english and I would recommend you to do your homework and listen to some french stuff on line. At first it will be alien but after a while, you'll start picking it up....

We're not tougher than anyone else, and like you say, it depends on the person. Generally, I would say that if you show people that you try to speak their language, even if you struggle, they will try to help...

  6. like every language, try to practice !

    It will be easier.

But stay cool, i'm french, and i have never been good in "french".
