French rugby team well suited to win Rugby World Cup
The dominance of French domestic and international rugby has made them the ideal team to back over the coming months and leading into the World Cup next summer.
Toulouse personified this with victory over fellow French team, Biarritz, in the European Cup final over the weekend. The match was a closely fought encounter and proved the superiority of French rugby at the moment.
Combine the progress of France’s domestic sides with the success of the international team. France won the six nations at an absolute canter when many predicted them to fall as they have so often done in previous years and tournaments.
The last few months have highlighted many areas in French rugby, which make the Blues an imposing side to face. If they get all of their preparation right and the domestic season in France next year is just as successful then there is no reason why this side cannot win the World Cup.
French Domestic Rugby
France have proven that they have the best domestic rugby sides in the whole world. There is an enormous amount of talent on display in French sides, which also shows that the French international squad is blessed.
Most of the French domestic sides have organisation at the very front of their agenda. They cleverly include a number of young and hungry French players with more experienced players and foreign talent.
The over lying factor many will agree on in terms of French rugby is that French domestic sides do not try too hard. They have got the enjoyment back into their domestic rugby, which creates a healthy team spirit and keeps morale up.
This in turn works for the domestic sides because quite often a good team spirit is enough to get a side through any difficult match against statistically stronger opponents. A lot rests on the next season for French domestic rugby but with more foreign players flocking to the French league, the future is bright.
French International Side
The international team have quickly moved to the front of many betting markets for next year’s World Cup. However, there is a lot of time and many matches to be played between now and then.
If France manage to keep their reputation similar to the way it is at the moment then they could be considered outright favourites for the World Cup. The point is that their organisation and resilience will be tested against some of the bigger and stronger Southern Hemisphere sides.
The international side have got their balance right. They have kept the experienced players in place and slowly blended in the talent emerging from the French leagues. This means that they keep the core of the side the same with the experience and just work around it.
This has meant that France can stay solid in defence when they play any side. The flamboyancy on the younger players is fully on show because the middle of the team stays solid and compact.
Betting Advice
Do not be afraid to back French domestic sides next season. The French league managed to get two domestic sides into the final of the European Cup when they were not playing at their best.
There is still room for improvement and many signings to be made. This could make French sides like Toulouse even better than they are at the moment and they have as good a chance as ever to move forward next year and defend their European crown.
As for the international side, back them to the hills in their up and coming tours. They will be full of confidence and if these tours go well then get your money on them to win the World Cup in 2011 sooner rather than later.
