Is this correct-

"Pour la rhume, prenez la sirop contre la toux et pour la grippe, rester au lit et pour la un coup de soleil, prenez de la lotion a la calamine"?

OR should it be, 'pour la rhume, *drink* sirop contre la toux..etc without the la, and inserting drink instead of 'prenez'. If this is so, what is the word for drink?

Please help! Best answer goes to first correct answer, guaranteed. :) Thanks in advance.

  1. Even better would be to say : "contre" le rhume, instead of pour...

  2. Pour lE rhume, prenez DU sirop contre la toux et pour la grippe, resteZ au lit. Pour un coup de soleil, prenez de la lotion à la calamine"?

Cut and paste your text and compare to mine.

There are some details I corrected.

  3. Bonjour, hey!not bad :°)!but  you would say in french "pour le rhume, prenez le sirop contre la toux et pour la grippe, restez au lit .Pour le coup de soleil prenez la lotion à la ?" calamine?what's calamine? it's not a french word!

    To drink=boire/imperative=buvez!

    To take=prendre/imperative=prenez!

    Good luck, friendly,Valérie from Toulouse.

  4. Hi there!

    We will rather say:

Pour le rhume, prenez (or buvez=drink) du sirop contre la toux et pour la grippe, restez au lit et pour un coup de soleil mettez (=put, or appliquez=apply) de la lotion a la calamine.

Et voila your translation is done

  5. yes, it's le rhume, un coup de soleil (not la un), et restez...

BUT do not say "prenez" when giving advice on calamine lotion because that implies that they should drink it, instead of rubbing it on their skin, and then you might poison them. but besides, who ever heard of putting calamine lotion on a sunburn. it is for mosquito bites and poison ivy/oak. mettez du "calamine lotion" sur la peau, ou bien, etalez une couche de "calamine lotion" sur la peau would be a better way of saying it.
