French speakers: What does bsxxxxx mean?

It's added at the end of letters and I just wanted to know if it was an acronym for something.... What exactly does it mean? Is it like the American "xoxoxo" (hugs and kisses)?

  1. Probably means "bisous" or "bises" (kisses).  At the end of informal letters, you oftentimes will see "Gros bisous" and "Grosses bises".

  2. In France, the double-kisses on each cheek that are commonly done as a greeting in Europe are called "bises", so the "bs" is short for "bises", which means "kisses", and the "xxxx" just means more kisses like the American "xoxoxo".
