HI, I am a 17 year old kid trying to decide my life, i am going into my senior year of high school. I want to live and work in france. I am going to join the military when I am older, and I'm wondering what is the best branch or w/e to join if I want money to help pay for a french university. Would it be the marines or the army? I am physically fit, will the marines pay more than the army? And what french universites would you recommend. And what would be a good field to geta degree in? i am wanting to live in france after my university(probably marry a french girl or something) so what jobs are good? thanks!

  1. No military branch will pay for any foreign university unless it is located in the United States. Do you even speak French if not how will you be able to join a French University? If you do speak French find a job as a English translator or tour guide. It takes 1.6 Dollars to exchange for 1 Euro so I guess you better think long and hard. Easiest ( guaranteed ) 2 ways to become a French citizen is through the French Foreign Legion or marry a French woman. If your a French citizen college and universities are free.

The new GI Bill does not mention anything about foreign universities and the old GI Bill only give about 2000 dollars a semester for foreign studies HARDLY enough.

  2. You want to check with the Department of Veterans Affairs to see if any universities in France are covered by the GI Bill.
