French views?

This is for people living in france who can also speak english. Americans want to visit france sometimes, but what do you think of life in france? do you think it's exciting, or just regular day life?

It depends where you live and how many money you can spend in hobbies. France is expensive.

I live in Paris, and it's very easy to have fun everywhere you go cos we ve too much place to have great moment.

But of course, Paris as the others french cities are stressing and when u live here is so different than when u visit.

Is like living in NY and just visiting it!

Life in large cities in France is very much like that of other parts in the world: busy, with commuting to and back from work. In smaller towns it is more relaxed. The day does not seem as tedious because there is a proper break at lunch time.

Culturally and visually France is absolutely stunning as there is so much to admire, to see, to do.  Its History goes back all the way to prehistoric times and there are remains from each stage from cave paintings, Roman monuments, medieval houses and castles, Renaissance splendours, to modern architecture. For visitors it is absolutely wonderful: beautiful landscapes, stunning castles, breathtaking gardens, art galleries full of masterpieces and so much culture that you never get tired of it all because of the variety that exists. The French are enthusiatic about artifacts and their environment: even small places boast statues or monuments, fountains, flowers; there is very little litter and streets are clean.

Now that the dollar is low, things may seem expensive to Americans, but they are not more expensive than visiting UK  where hotels, good food and quality goods are extremely dear. We were in New York at Christmas and we found things expensive there  compared to some similar things in France.

Another aspect of France that is also pleasing is that the food served is good and varied. There are few fast food outlets and they are not in competition with one another to serve more of the same stuff such as burgers or pizzas. There are reasonably priced wines to suit every palate. French markets are awesome with tons of fresh produce, vegetables, cheeses and local delicacies.

Obviously your own perception will be affected by where you live yourself and your age group. If you live in a busy city  French provincial life may seem quiet and relaxing, but if you live in miles of forest with only nature on your doorstep it will be quite exciting as even small towns are interesting and varied. If you are young, busy places may appeal to you more than backwaters and cities may attract to you more.

Life must be good in France since so many English speaking people are now buying a French property and moving there lock stock and barrel.

I am French but in UK at the moment, and I go to the USA regularly both for my work and because I have family there and a beautiful American grand-daughter. I can appreciate the way of life in each. Going to a country to visit is a different thing from living there permanently and it is exciting and interesting to see new things and different nations' ways of life. If you have the opportunity to come over do not miss it.

Oh I love paris !

I live in Paris ( job) Los Angeles (mother )and  Le Havre in Normandie. ( my city born)

But Paris is very beautiful city

In the past I had friend in Los-Angles , and now they live in Bordeau and they love this city and the french culture.

I thinks it's good idea :)

it depends! i have visited many cities around the world but i still think that Paris il the most beautiful city in the world. i'm not gonna list u all the reasons, you already know them. but Americans (and others) should be understanding and friendly with parisians. indeed, parisians always run and seem rude i think they don't want to speak in english because firstable french is a very defficult languague and i don't know if u already heard a french speaking english: it's awful! but they're very nice when you take the time to talk to them in the subway for example. as far as i'm concerned, i always talk  with strangers (black, chinese, businessmen...) they're are simply friendly. when i went to NYC i learned english to be able to speak with NYC but i don't know why but anyone wanted to talk to me maybe because i'm an arab. nevertheless, it was a wonderful journey!
