Frends announces addition of surfers to the crew
Frends, a snowboarding group of friends who introduced a line of headphones, recently announced a surf team, taking surfers Conner Coffin, Mitch Coleborn, Warren Smith and Benji Weatherley on board.
The founder and CEO of Frends, Keir Dillon, admitted that he is really excited about the recent expansion of the Frends crew.
Commenting on the inclusion of the surfers onto the team, he said, “All of us have always loved to skate and surf, we just so happened to be better at snowboarding – so to be able to find a group of surfers that not only get what we are about, but live it
out daily is huge.”
Dillon added that it just felt like the right thing to do to include the surfers in the crew as they perfectly represented what Frends is all about.
Conner, a member of the recently announced Frends surf team, is also really ecstatic over becoming a part of the company’s crew.
According to him, “Being part of Frends is just an all around friendly experience. It’s rad to be a part of a company that has such a different vibe than any of the other one’s I’m involved with. The crew consists of super cool guys that get along really
well and love to have a good time.”
The inclusion of surfers to the Frends team is the company’s first step into the multi-sport territory. While the brand will definitely earn more recognition and make its presence in the action sports industry more evident, questions are being raised whether
the brand would be able to stay true to its core, which is snowboarding, or end up deviating from their roots.
Dillon dismissed the concerns by saying that Frends was never about snowboarding only, but more about the people who share the same common value that there is no “I” in friends. That is what has kept the company going for so long, instead of the mere focus
on sports.
