Hey! I just had a frenulectomy. They cut the frenum muscle under my top lip , above my two front teeth. They decided to put only one stitch in so it wouldn't bother me and because of that I have to do some prescription mouthwash to heal it faster. It's called PerioRX. I dont know why, but I dont want to do it, cause it looks very gross tasting. Has anyone had to do it before? Is it as bad as I think it is? My mom says I better do it while she's gone... PLease hElp!!!

Thank u!

Emily

  1. Just use the rinse.  It is better than developing a nasty infection and having to go through more surgery!!

  2. Peridex mouth wash isn't gross. It should have a nice flavor like mint. It also should be clear looking. Good luck.

  3. Yup. Been there, done that. Suck it up... you'll live. :D

How is something gross tasting LOOKING?

You need to do it so you don't get an infection in your mouth, where they did the cutting. You're mouth has a lot of bacteria, so you want to make sure it doesn't get infected. But, good news is, mouth heals quick, so you shouldn't have to do it for long.

Besides, ten years from now, when you don't look like David Letterman with a three mile gap between your teeth, you'll be glad you did it.
