Frequent Flyer Miles?

My friend is soon going to buy a plane ticket with Air Canada. He does not seem interested in getting the frequent flyer miles that come with the flight he is going to take. Is it possible that he give the miles he will receive on this trip to me?

  1. no miles are only valid for the ticket passenger.  Since there is no fee to join why wouldn't he want it?

  2. I don't think Aeroplan allows someone else than the member to accumulate points, and members cannot give points away or transfer them to someone else. I remember a few years back that they allowed that as a one time deal, but I'm not too certain. But I think an Aeroplan member can get a free ticket for you with their points.

  3. He's the only one who can get the miles. Since AC is a member of Star Alliance, he can credit the miles to the frequent flyer programs of any Star airline including United or US Airways.
