Question:

Frequent appetite changes during pregnancy...?

I'm 4 weeks and 6 days this morning.

over the past couple weeks i have noticed that some days i eat only a couple times a day (which is normal for me) and then i go through these spells that for a few days i eat a lot! ill snack on something ALL day at work, then on normal days i can go a few hours without snacking like normal.

did this happen to you when you were in your first month?

and is there away to control it?

or should i just eat when i feel like it like i have been doing?

  1. I was the same way too and still am. I always snack on something cause I have lost about 15lbs in the 1st trimester, I just can't eat a lot of the time cause of the smells or it just doesn't taste good. Just remember that old saying "your eating for two" IS NOT TRUE. you only need an extra 300 calories you don't want to put on extra weight that might risk you and the baby. Eat when you hungry but watch what you eat. I also found out that i'm  REALLY hungry all of the time cause I don't eat enough protein!!!! so I have added a lot of that into my diet now. I also have IBS so I have to watch what I eat too!


  2. I had frequent appetite changes too. Mine started a little further along, still was pretty normal till I hit 8 weeks. I was told to remember when kids have growth sturts in life, their appetite increases, so you could be having days where your body is growing and changing and needs extra fuel, lol. Starting at 8 weeks I was getting sick (and it lasted till about 22 weeks) so I had to eat something little all throughout the day, even if not hungry. It helped keep me from getting sick. I tried to snack on healthy stuff like carrot sticks throughout the day. Nothing is wrong with you, very normal. Good luck with everything!!!

  3. I was the same way, I was also hit with realllly bad morning sickness from 6-12 weeks. Even now at 14 weeks I am the same way, some days I eat like crazy and some days I just can't.

  4. yes it happens.. your feeding two..so eat when you feel the urge.. make sure it all isnt junk food tho

  5. I was like that with my first pregnancy. I was extremely hungry till the morning sickness started up. Then I hardly ate for a few months. And around 5 months I could've ate everything in site.

    If your hungry eat. Just try and keep it healthy.
